The Media Commission's role is to ensure that voters have an opportunity to make an informed choice when they vote. As stated in Article 51 of the Electoral Law, the commission "shall monitor fair reporting and coverage of the electoral campaign period and shall deal with the complaints concerning any breaches of fair reporting or coverage of political campaign, or other violations of the Mass Media Code of Conduct".
The composition, responsibilities, and authorities of the Media commission are determined by the Joint Electoral Management Body.
